Frequently Asked Questions

How do we help with Estates?

What is legally required to occur with an estate when a person dies varies greatly:

  • Obtaining a grant of probate and then collecting the assets of the deceased and distributing them in accordance with the will

  • Dealing with superannuation benefits

  • Transferring property to a surviving co-owner

  • Obtaining letters of administration when there is no will

  • Obtaining bank accounts and other assets for the next of kin where the estate is small

  • Negotiating a resolution where there is a dispute over a will

  • Working with Executors to manage an estate

  • Court litigation

So, how does this happen?

If you know the deceased has their will held with OFRM, please call and speak to one of our Estate lawyers and we can guide you in what needs to happen.

  • If you are an executor and wish for our experienced Estate lawyers to work with you for the estate (it doesn’t matter that the Will was made or held elsewhere) phone us and we can commence the steps required.

  • If a loved one died without a will, phone and speak to one of our Estate lawyers and we can assist you on starting the process to get things sorted.
